I Bet You Can't!

I have been shamelessly eavesdropping on my oldest two children. Today's topic of conversation started with betting that one could not live with some electronic device or another for a week or more. This went back and forth for quite sometime.

When they finally got serious. The oldest one says "I bet you can't be nice to me for a whole week." The response I heard was "I probably can but let's start with just a day." So of course I have to throw my two cents in here. If one of them is going to do this I think they both should. (I give this a ten second life span) So back to negotiating they go. It is finally decided that they both have to go one full day without being mean to each other.

The girl has decided she will just lock herself in her room that should keep her out of trouble. The boy has decided he will win because he will nicely pester her to death. Last statement on the subject from the boy is "We need to start tomorrow. I can't do this today it is going to be to hard!"

Maybe by this weekend I can post about one peaceful day!

Happy 3rd of July!

What a wonderful day! We started our morning with some really wonderful weather and a stop for doughnuts.

Then off to the parade. I can honestly say I do believe Tater will make a great politician one day. We had lunch and came back home to rest so we would be able to make it to the fireworks later in the night.

After a nap or two we made our way to the fireworks. Enjoyed our picnic and the sights.

Time Flies when you are having fun.

Wow! Where did it all go? The time? Yesterday George was only this big. With huge blue eyes that had yet to see much of the world.

Now in less than one months time she will turn 9 years old. What happened? She is truly becoming her own unique young lady. I am blessed on a daily basis by her presence and charm. I could not imagine how dull life would be without her.

What a precious child and my absolute favorite first born child of all time! I don't know what I would do without her. Not sure what to do with her some days but laughter is to be had if she is involved. Of that there is no doubt.

I am Truly Blessed to be this young lady's mom and can not wait to see what the next year has in store for us.

Now if we can just get her brothers treat her as the Princess she knows she is life would be so much quieter.

I LOVE YOU!

Butter

Walking my oldest two into school this morning and having a normal conversation about paying attention to the teachers, keeping our hands to ourselves, not talking out of turn, not running in the halls, leaving all contraband items in my care or in the car, etc. This list could go on forever! This is why we park at the far end of the parking lot as far from the school as possible so we can cover all topics before actually making it to any ones class room. We are to the sidewalk in front of the building walking behind the teachers and administrators that are out to help get the car riders safely into the building. When my daughter decides to announce at the top of her lungs "Well butter my butt and call me Biscuit!", Uhm WHAT?!

Please take into account that she also has a very south Georgia accent that I am not quite sure where she acquired it. None the less, I then turn to my son who has been in trouble for most of his elementary school career and tell him in no uncertain terms I do not ever want to hear you repeat that. Today of all days I do not want a phone call, a note, an e-mail or any other correspondence from your teacher and/or the principal, understood? "Yes Ma'am"

This is when he drops about two steps behind me and in his most conspiratorial whisper which is heard by the same administrators and teachers "Hey that means your a butter butt!"

NICE!!!!!!

Now that I am safely ensconced in my car with none of my offspring around I am laughing so hard I am not sure that I will make it back home.

Where does this stuff come from?

Merry Christmas!

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

What a wonderful day. We enjoyed lots of time with family and friends.

The children are excited about all of the gifts they received and even more excited about the remainder of the family that has yet to make it to town.

We gained a new home for a new family member on Christmas morning. Abigail got a Hamster cage. Hmmmm, What was I thinking?! She was so excited. Harrison has a ramp for his skateboard/bike and the number for the emergency room on speed dial. Grayson has a Leap Frog reading system and is enjoying "reading" his own books.

We had an eventful year. Lot's of ups and downs. Looking forward to much more ups in the new year and to see what is in store for us all.

Hope you all had the Merriest Christmas yet and are looking forward to all of the blessings waiting in the New Year!

Stating the obvious

So the attempt to keep everyone up to date has obviously fallen flat. That is what I get for setting such high expectations for myself.

On a daily basis I feel a sense of major accomplishment when everyone makes it to where they are supposed to be and back home. Without any phone calls reminding me that I actually have to pick the children up from school. Thankfully that has only happened once and was a minor communication error on the part of the parents involved. (Yes that would include me)
So here we go with the bi-annual update:

Abigail is excelling in school. She is truly taking a huge liking to english and literature. She loves to read and write, all the time. If she is not doing one she is working on the other. She is doing really well in her classes at dance and I am super excited about all of the events they have coming up. I have seen some real strides made this year. She is truly full of surprises.

Harrison is doing really well in school as far as his grades go. He maded HONOR ROLL for the first nine weeks. WoooooooHoooooooo!!!!!! I can not tell you how excited I was about this and he is truly proud of his accomplishment. Our behaviour, well we will just let that subject slide for now.

Grayson has decided to come into his own over the past few months. He is very inquisitive and must have a set of adult eyes on him at all times. I absolutly adore him as long as he has not found a pair of scissors and is hiding somewhere cutting up whatever he found that looked good.
All in all it has been a good year. Ready for next year and all that it may bring.
